Can anyone recommend an ISP

My ISP has let me down badly, and I can't now get online at home. Can anyone recommend a reliable, economical ISP and remind me how I can switch to them despite currently being deprived of home 'Net access?

Hi Ormondroyd,
I don't know if they're the best, but
www dot free-online dot net
have been ok for us for some years now. They do pay as you go 0845 numbers and we've just switched to a monthly fixed bill which is ok.
As to how to switch - suggest you find a friend with access to register (& will let you print off the details you need to set up your new dialup/settings on mail client/browser) or go to an internet cafe (bad idea) or public library (good idea as it's generally less expensive/free).
Cheers
