Hello,
Very interesting entry, thank you smiley - smiley I've just spotted a couple of wee points:

In the Kings X section, "a section of a luggage trolley amerced in a wall" i'm not sure 'amerced' is the right word.

And, in footnote four, i'm pretty sure that GWR broad gauge was 7ft and a quarter of an inch smiley - geek

Whoami - iD dislikes punctuation

Marylebone is to get two extra platforms, bringing the total to six. They're being built at the moment.

A bit more anorak stuff for you concerning the Kings Cross entry. In the Ealing Studios comedy The Ladykillers, Mrs Lopsided's wonky house was, as is stated, in Frederica street. (Most of the locations were in and around Kings Cross.) Before redevelopment, Frederica Street ran from Caledonian Road to a dead end just above the main line about a mile north of the station. It was here that Ealing built the house used in the film. Strangely, when shooting from inside the house the location changes to Argyle Street which faces St. Pancras Station. The children of Frederica Street could be quite naughty so were promised a party if they behaved during the filming. They did behave and got their Street Party, Coronation Style, with the actors and crew waiting on them.
