Manchester's local radio, on a good day, could be heard as far west as Flintshire, as far north as Blackburn, et c.

This is your salt-of-the-earth North-Western England (plus little corner of Wales)which is down to earth North and can inerringly spot and deal death to pretension and pseudiness.

So WHY did Picadilly's local ident have to be in a faux-North American Black accent when it's broadcasting to Manchester, for goodness sake! I can think of nothing more pretentious and pseudy than being urged to listen to my local radio station by somebody putting on a fake Isaac Hayes as Shaft accent...
