A Conversation for Unusual Places to Visit in San Francisco, USA

Great Entry, but ...

Post 1

Jeremy (trying to find his way back to dinner)

... there are so many more places to go to, such as

- Cable Barn, where you can see how the Cable Cars keep going
- Lombard Street, which is said to be the "crookedest street of the world except for Wall Street, NYC)"
- ...
- ...

just to name a few.

Anyhow, the whole city of San Francisco is definitely worth many visits, and you'll discover something new every singel time ...

smiley - ok

Parachute mafia princess

actually, the stretch of lombard that all the tourist and where the cable car stops at is NOT the crooked-est street... unfortunately, i have drawn a blank on which street that can claim that title! i shall return once i find the answer, unless someone else can find it first.

more UNUSUAL places in SF:

the TWIN PEAKS bar on the corner of Castro and Market - where gay men enjoyed cocktails together without hiding... the front is flanked with huge windows.

the CASTRO area itself - everything that is chic about being FABOO-lous and then a bunch that aren't, but much fun anyway.

ASIA SF - @ 9th and Howard St. the most beautiful girls serve you your meal... but look closely, you may find a surprise. also, your server will perform on top of the center bar, hourly.

here ends my little fruitfly addition to the SF tour.

riotact : like a phoenix from the ashes

the crookedest street is actually vermont, but if tourists start going THERE it will be havoc! you can really get stuck on that street. moreover, what makes lombard such an attraction is its so pretty, and vermont is just a gray little street in a gray little industrial area.

more curious sights in sf:

the fire hydrant in dolores park that's painted gold each year by survivors of the 1906 quake/fire. i suppose there aren't any left these days, but i'm sure this san francisco tradition will live forever.

the rotunda of the palace of fine arts in the marina district ; it's a kick to see japanese couples in wedding dress waiting in line to get their picture taken in front of it. whole tourist buses arrive for that purpose.
