What about some along the lines of veni, vidi, vici? I once saw some like "I came, I partied, I got drunk" "I came, I saw, I ran away"
They're quite funny smiley - smiley.

If I can quote (loosely) from "1066 and all that" :

"The Britons, who still used the old pronunciation, gave up at hearing themselves described as 'Weeny, weedy and weaky', thinking Caesar had already divided them All into Three Parts".

That is not a strict quote, but it is what I can remember, and is therefore very much in the Steadler and Yeats tradition.

actually, even the "conventional" translation is inaccurate. 'vici' refers to vicinity. the word is 'vinci'. how the n got dropped (guessing) is probably the same way Latin devolved into the Romance languages of today. yeah, DEvolved. when you have beautiful words like cum turning into con, hey, what more can i say? smiley - smiley

actually... it IS veni, vidi, vici...

the verb "to conquer" is vinco, vincere, vici victum...

and thus the perfect (AKA past) form of the verb IS vici, not vinci.

so STFU, fool!

Talking of areas 199841, click edit and write an intro so that a nice ACE (Assistant Community Editor) type person can come along and welcome you to h2g2.
smiley - ok If you click on 'Who's Online' you can see the researchers names, clicking any of these will take you to their 'Space' where you can see what they have contributed to H2G2.

If you want to see how a page is constructed, replace the 'U' in front of the researcher number with 'testuserspace' e.g. U172782 becomes testuserspace172782 .
For entries just replace the 'A' with test e.g. test712595.
You can click on anything underlined and if you click on a smiley you will be instantly transported to the smiley page where you will see all the smileys you can use. Some of the smileys on my page are links, so clicking on them will show you some of my contributions to h2g2. I use classic goo (the original colour of the h2g2 site before the beeb took over)

Alji, smiley - zensmiley - wizard of the Red Dragon (Swynwr y Ddraig Goch) (conducting a sun sign poll @ A712595)(Member of The H2G2 Guild of Wizards @ U197895 looking for wiz kids to join, though you don't have to be a wiz kid just know a bit about some subject that you think will be of interest to others or just bore the pants off them. This is an equal opportunities space open to all sexes, ages and abilities)
