Which website?
You have to get permission from the author in all instances of borrowing bits. On h2g2 the easiest was is writing a message on their page or in the article you want to borrow from. You can then put them as contributers to your article. I don't know what happens if the person doesn't want you to use bits or isn't around anymore to ask. Will try and find out for you
