The site has long periods of being down making it difficult, if not darn near impossible for people to post.

Under these circumstances I think if they should miss the deadline for that day it shouldn't be counted as a miss.

Niether should they feel oblidged spend their time wrestling with posting and should be able to choose just to wait until the site is working again to make a post even if that pushes them past the deadline

I agree. This is a fun and creative thing, I very much doubt you will be shot.
On the other hand, it does technically say in paragraph c, subsection f, rule 12, that you should be.
But I'm sure that's just a technicality.

Peanut, are you using one of the 'old' skins? Because they've been giving me trouble, but Pliny seems to work OK most of the time.

I am a goo girl myself but I switch to Pliny if goo doesn't work

I posted because there have been a couple of times when the site has gone down and niether Ripley or Pliny have been stable or even functional for a quite a while.

I noticed for a couple NaMo posters in different timezones it has been a real difficultly to post and also frustrating

I don't expect Pastey to be on call 24 hours a day, so if the site goes down 3am our time it is only reasonable to wait till people get up.

It would just be a bit unfair on people who aren't posting to uk time if their posts aren't getting through. Also if the site is down I think they should just be able to wait until it is up and running smoothly rather than having to spend their time wrestling with an activity that should be enjoyable
