Goldcrest Success

SashaQ writes: Following on from my unsuccessful attempt to capture a recognisable photograph of a Goldcrest, I went back to the same area recently and happened upon more Goldcrests. This time I was more prepared. I tried taking a few non-shaky photographs, but the birds moved faster than my camera could cope with. Instead I took a video of the birds moving around, and one of the frames was the picture I was hoping for. It wouldn't win any prizes in a competition, but it is a 'record shot' that means I could add Goldcrest to my bird list 2023. The Goldcrest was my 105th bird species seen and photographed in 2023, equalling the number of species I photographed in 2022.

A small olive-brown bird with large eye hidden among tree branches and twigs.
