While this entry is right about the stated positions of the two parties it is also true that the federal government actually tends to grow MORE during a republican administration.

Recently, yes that's true. But not true during Hoover's time or Coolidge's time of course. The entry speaks of realignments, and it's possible the Democrats will become the small government folks, but it's funny how Republicans tend to get folks to vote for them based largely on pledges of small government.

I'll tell you what though, some of the Senators and Reps. up on Capitol Hill are trying to push through a budget soon that would dramatically cut funding for important programs like teaching adults how to read... the whole roads and bridges thing really
