Local Radio DJs
It's a quarter past 9 in the morning here at Pox FM.In 3 minutes and every 3 minutes for the next hour we'll have the travel update, and in about 30 seconds I'll start to get right up your nose. Here's another lame tune on our "All 70's Hits Weekender"
I have a grudge, and the grudge I hold is against a section of the community who, at a point in the not so distant past1, were widely regarded as being cool, hip2 and trendy.
DJs, or to be more precise local radio DJs, really get on my tits.
I could quite easily complain about the fact that nothing they say is ever relevant to anyone, anywhere, ever. However, that would be too easy.
I could additionally, if I felt so inclined, complain about their singular lack of talent with regards to their chosen profession, but I won't.
If I got so petty as to bring the subject up, I could complain about the amount of money they get paid for, at most, 10 hours work a week. It's not the money that bugs me.
The main gripe I have with local radio DJs is this. Why do they have to put on really fake, "fun" accents and treat everyone who calls in as if they were a moron?
Answers please, on a postcard to the usual address.
