Tuition fees

Hey ho, never know but going to university here in scotland may mean not having to pay these agrivating tuition fees that our cretinous government seem to think will improve education.
One question, are we going back to the golden days when only aristocrats get educated? Is this a "keep the peasants in the fields" doctrine, it seems that way to me.
