Driving Etiquette - Saudi Arabia

0 Conversations

In Saudi Arabia, turn signals are used to indicate when it is safe to pass. The left turn signal means it is safe to pass, and the right turn signal means that it isn't.

When Americans were introduced to the roads of Saudi Arabia during Desert Shield, this caused a little difficulty. It was not terribly uncommon for American vehicles to signal for a left turn, and they would be struck by a Saudi Arabian who thought that it would be safe to pass.

Fortunately, the gulf war started and the carnage ended. Well at least it ended on our side.
