Progressive Metal Music

For some time music has pushed the boundries of what was called ROCK.
ROCK soom became METAL for those listeners who wanted to hear harder, faster and crunchier. But that soon changed, there were those who wanted it even heavier and THRASH METAL came, but it didn't end there, the hardcore people wanted their own too so DEATH and BLACK METAL were born. DOOM METAL came from the roots of BLACK SABBATH, GOTH METAL spurred on by the children of the night, plus a variety of different offsprings; PAGAN, VIKING, SLUDGE, MATH, and SPEED METAL.
But PROGRESSIVE METAL came from the giants of PROGRESSIVE ROCK, bands like PINK FLOYD, URIAH HEEP, UFO, PROCOLE HARUM, YES and countless others infuenced many bands like DREAM THEATER, FATES WARNING, QUEENSRYCHE, SHADOW GALLERY and countless others.
Of all the many forms of METAL, PROGRESSIVE METAL is the most underrated. Song content is not aggressive or hostile, there is no hate in PROGRESSIVE METAL but people that do not know what they are talking about lump PROGRESSIVE with all the agressive METAL genres.
I have seen all the tours that go by and I have yet to see any PROGRESSIVE METAL tours except for one, that had no bands I knew of or anybody else I know knew of.
I am a music teacher, not someone who teaches people how to play music, someone who informs people what music there is out there that the radio stations will not play for whatever reason they have. I go out to music stores and look at everything. If it looks interesting I will most likely buy it or at least listen to it first. Then I turn my friends on to it, and they turn their other friends on to it, and it is my largest wish to start my own radio station. As radio stations go they only reach a limited number of listeners so that is why I am going to start the world's best online radio station called AlienNation.
If you are the kind of person who can't stand the radio stations there are now and want to hear lots of music you will NEVER hear anywhere else keep your ears open, it won't be long!
