Just to prove the old saying, "If you don't ask, you don't get", I've successfully negotiated a 6 month sabbatical and am today enjoying my first official day off work. I'm hoping this will give me some time and space to focus on the things I want to for a while and reduce the stress levels that have been building up over the last few years.
Who knows, with a little distance from the office I might even rediscover the things I liked about the job and return to work next year with renewed vigour and enthusiasm.
But for now, I think it's time for another cup of 
and then maybe a stroll down to the reservoirs while it's not raining...

That's fantastic 
If you find as many things to occupy your time as I did when I took a sabbatical, and/or find yourself enjoying the freedom from any kind of job-related stress and worry, you won't want to go back

That's kind of what I'm worried about! If only one of these hobbies of mine paid enough to cover the bills I'd not be heading back to an office job next year...

In my world that isn't anything to be worried about... which is probably why I'm so boracic right now
