On my voice-mail is a message from Sue who was given my business card by a mutual acquantance who thought we should meet "as your histories are similar". Not half! She took over my reception class at Sir Harry Johnston primary school in Zomba,Malawi when I left on maternity leave. The baby in question was 25 in February

I had someone reply to my International School of Yaounde post to say they were an ex-pupil. Unfortunately they didn't say anything more and seem to have gone away...still, shows what a small world it is.

Somebody who left Westleigh junior school the same year as I did and Westcliff High school for boys the same year as I left the girls' bit emailed me today. He's thinking of setting up a 50 year reunion for Westleigh- not many years down the line from here
