New Identity
Mike A (snowblind) Started conversation Dec 3, 1999
I've decided to do a sort of 'alter-ego' thing. 2 researchers on one computer. He'll be called Jonathan Brisby (duh!) In case of times of need when something like this would be handy (like having friends over who want to do stuff on the guide).

Just how do you go about it. I thought I knew, but what I did didn't work.
So how do u do it?

go to
http://www.hotmail.com/
http://www.mailcity.com/
http://www.mail.com/
or a similar site. You can get free addresses there. You can get them at
http://www.yahoo.com/
but that takes a lot of signing up etc. although it is great in the long run cos you can sign up for other yahoo things which are really cool...
check them out.
But before you log on, you need to put a password on (it helps). Go to the details page (or http://www.h2g2.com/backpage.cgi if you're lazy) and put a password in.
Then go to http://www.h2g2.com/register.cgi and re-register. To be yourself again go to the same page and enter your address and password. I don't bother with logout as it's just too much bother, you might as well just go straight to the register page.
Good luck

My, what would I do without you and Bruce?
The new identity will probably have to wait. I'm certain it'll involve me having to know my ISP number, and due to circumstances beyond my control that'll end up becoming hard work.
I've been thinking. Why don't you shorten your name to just 'Lisa The Freak'. I mean the whole thing -is- a bit of a mouthful.
aat, how do you get all the changing colour text, like on your homepage? I reckon something like that would be dead handy for my mosh-pit.

You don't need your ISP number, I don't know where that came from.
Anyway, here's the stuff:

I assume that where it says "fill this colour array with your colours" I type in red, blue, green etc?
btw the new(ish) name suits you.

Thanks.
No, I think you need the hexidecimal values of the colours. I'll just go find you the links to a place where you an get themm.. But honestly, it's a lot easier to leave it like it is. that's what i've done.

You mean, exactly as it is? With all the "put your own colours here" stuff? Are you sure? I want to be certain before I commit myself. I'm working on the Mosh Pit right now.

Yes. I copied it off my page, that's exactly how it goes.

Unfortunatley, my page is writtemn in Guide ML. I just remembered that. So unless somebody tells me how to get those pictures up there in HTML I'll have to do without the colours. And probably the music. Damn.
Bruce was helping me out with this sort of stuff. Looks like I'll have to collar him again.
