A subject of interest ?

It is a fact, it exists, the deaf will surely hear with an implant connection.

But will the blind ever see with a computer connection, camera directly to brain?

Do our computers already make impressions in our brains that stay implanted, and is it a fact that some persons can actually see a cursor and moving script in the mind's eye long after the computer is switched off, some even pictures, is it similar to still seeing a television picture or a light after it is switched off, or a completely new dimension?

yes i think .it will be possible since we all see in dreams, our eyes are closed yet we still see, some blind people as i understand can see
colours or more feel than see, so they see but on a diferent plain than us, infer red and many other parts of the light spectrum travel through
solid objects .So maybe further research there will bring progress, rather than the sonar projects that are more widely publisised.

Thanks logicus I knew that you would answer, right away you clocked on, it is very similar to dreaming, if you ask a person do they dream and they say yes, then ask are they in colour, usually they do not know.

I thought that most people would not believe, yet many years ago when I studied the matter a bit more, I found that I could actually control it to a limited degree, it was black and white and I was able to add colour. This is when I am wide awake, usually having just woken up, Strange things are yet to be discovered in this world, yet many never will be.

would not have thought belief as much as not take notice, my interest i suppose comes from childhood ,my elder sister had a deaf friend and used to speak by sign lanquage , and also my inquisative or nosey nature has often shown me that always more than one way of solving problem or arriving at same destination.

Re the seeing yet blind i often as a child allthough i knew i was dreaming managed to control the direction and speed of the dream, i may well have been "astral traveling" as i learnt about that many years later, since most of the places i went i knew but was not walking but more flying .Cant ever recall dreaming in black and white though, but feel the darker end of the spectrum are more predominent in the colours my mind choses to display shall we say in these dreams/visions or whatever name that could be given to these sensations.

sceince can only explain a lot of the things that go together to produce sight a camera can see a image yet it will reproduce on a photo graphic paper , from a reflection through a small hole so given that our skin is full of small holes there is no reason why a computer chip cannot be designed to do the same as that photographic paper, and what with the advances with plasma screens i doubt if it will be too much longer before it becomes a reality.

As a student of police detective work, I was taught by a great master of the art. To solve any problem, go back in time to when that problem did not exist, solve it at that point of creation and eradicate it in the present time.

A point of issue, can the use of computers, eventually influence, alter or permanently leave messages in our brain.

suppose a lot would depend on permanent, since the understanding of storage capacity of the brain is not fully understood, sure part of it is interactions of chemical and electrical stimuli much like its not until the bread mix is put into the oven that it becomes bread, ie if the mix is this that will happen

and science has all ready made use of the image flashes at speeds not distinguishable in leaving subliminal messages ,so i suppose that computers are all ready altering our processing of information, whether they are leaving or we are noticing different aspects/facets its hard to say. Perhaps as the changes are gradual we do not notice ,but then again when you look at the progress in societies like china one must err on the side that they do

As for influence yes but only in as much as the more information collected about any particular point of view/problem the more likely we are to come to a balanced decision, so yes they will and have influenced me and that is good as far as I can see as I am more aware of the differences and the sameness of individuality if that make sense,

Thanks logicus, you touched on the answers there when you mention sublimal messages, you mean the subtle advertising and learning tecniques don't you.

In my own trade I learned may things of value to it, my own mind developed in many ways to assist efficiency. I learned a great deal from studying the superhumnan powers of my police dog as he indictated things that I could not see, in the dark for instance, or when he detected fear or guilty knowledge in a person. Even when knocking on a door, I knew at once if the house was empty or not, just by looking at him.

The mind itself adapts to training for a purpose, for instance I can not tell you the number on the front and back of my car because it is not important, I can see it any time I need it.

Yet flash a trigger to my memory and the result comes out just like it does out of the computer, but no where near as eficiently as it did when I was useing it daily.

Yesterday for instance, the T.V. news mentioned a part of London, and the following flash came to mind immediately, "10. Rillington Place, Reginald John Christie, ex war time Special Constable, murdered females, by drugging and gassing, burried them in cellar. Framed slow witted Timothy Evans later hung by Pierpoint, successor to the hangman Allan later landlord of pub "Help The Poor Struggler"in Failsworth near Manchester. I am not saying that all this is completely accurate, but I bet it checks out quite well.

Great topic, thanks for your contribution.

Cheers H.
