Did some more work in the garden today, with Dana's help: raking mulch, pulling weeds. I'd like to get the compost in by the end of next week so that it can sit a while and we can do another round of weeding before the real seeds are in. The biggest nuisance is the poison hemlock, which sprouts from the root and is tough to eradicate.
I also cleaned out some junk from the area that we intend to use for duck housing this spring, including an old cast-iron bathtub. Since that was already cracked, I used a sledgehammer to reduce it to manageable pieces. Thank heavens for hearing protection!
Two chapters of author review and some time on the phone with a Microsoft program manager accounted for my paying work for the day.
