A paradox

An interesting puzzle from Lewis Carroll:

If you are in London at noon on Tuesday, and travel with the earth's rotation at the speed of the earth's rotation, so that you reach each new time zone at precisely noon on Tuesday, by the time you reach london again, it will be 24 hours later, or, noon on wednesday. At what point does tuesday turn to wednesday? If it's noon wherever you are at, at some point, logically, you must travel from noon tuesday to noon wednesday in the space of a single time zone, which, obviously, is not the way it works. So how does it work?

I used to have a similar problem thinking about the international dateline.
When traveling east as opposed to west from London you gain an hour for each
time zone you cross therefore move closer toward the future (tomorrow).
When Traveling the other way you lose an hour.
I think that I just accepted that the International Dateline was not
a very GOOD PLACE TO HAVE A PARTY as in order to inform people what day the party
was to be held on you'd need to know which direction each guest would be traveling around the globe to the venue.
God! This entry is all getting a bit too complex for me, I'm getting all flustered and I'll have to take a little lie down somewhere!
