Little Mischief

... lest I forget what it was I wanted to read. It seems that for every book I finish about four get added to this list, it's about time I started keeping track of it somewhere.

For 2004 I want to read
The Lord of the Rings (again), even though I've just finished it, I've also just seen the last film and would like to read them again for comparison. I'm hoping since I've now read it once and seen it, the next read won't take as long!

Kushiel's Avatar, and then the Kushiel trilogy from the start again.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban before the film.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix since I've wanted to re-read it since I was about 2/3 through it the first time and I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Continuing the theme of books with films, I've just discovered that there will be a film of 'I, Robot' which I've never read, but do have a copy of.

If I remember correctly, they're also working on a film of 'The Bourne Supremacy' which I should read again, it's been about 10 years.

On the list of books just sitting around waiting to be read:
In Her Shoes by Jennifer Weiner
Smoke and Mirrors by Neil Gaiman
The Last Promise by Richard Paul Evans
Obsidian Butterfly by Laurell Hamilton
Triggerfish Twist by Tim Dorsey
The Truth by Terry Pratchett
Tourist Season by Carl Hiaasen
McNally's Dare by Vincent Lardo

I know there are others... but I think this is plenty to get me started.

A few things to take off the list:

Kushiel's Avatar - currently reading
In Her Shoes and McNally's Dare finished.
Listened to HP/Order of the Phoenix on a road trip, probably won't reread it for awhile.

Little Mischief

Listened to Azkaban on another recent road trip, and all of our copies are currently being read by other people so I'll strike that one.

Have finished Obsidian Butterfly - made me want to go back and start the Anita Blakes from the beginning to see how the character has changed. Hamilton's critics are really coming down on her for her character's moral evolution. Also finished Triggerfish Twist, somewhat disappointing, it'll be off to the secondhand shop in the near future. Now I'm a bit leary of Tourist Season, I think I'll swear off Floridian fiction for awhile. Read most of Smoke and Mirrors awhile back.

Need to add to the list:
The first book in the Pendragon series.
Stone and Anvil by Peter David
The Girl in the Red Coat
The Unadulterated Cat by Pratchett
Boy Meets Boy
Eats, Shoots and Leaves

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
