PARTY TIME!!!! Bar is open!
I have officially reached the grand total of 34 years on this planet! Today was a work day but I got to have a good old lie-in, a relatively easy day at the ofice with loads of pressies (my company always gives lovely pressies out on behalf of all the staff - the joys of working for a small company! I got the most snazzy set of designer pj's and matching slippers!)
I got the loveliest frog card from DDD with a tear-inducing poem in it! He's an old romantic, sometimes. I also got a shiny new super-duper pair of my favourite trainers and was surprised at work with the HUGEST bouquet of gerberas, orchids, and lilies from him! It was a two man job to get them into the vase and positioned on the table. They are so big, we've had to prop them on the table against the wall!
We were going to go out for dinner tonight but I've decided that I'd rather go for an Indian takeaway (DDD not keen on them so it's a special event thing only!), get into my snazzy pj's and get lamb bhuna all down them!
I am a very, very lucky girl
So whatcha having? I've even got sparklers and fruit-on-a-stick for cocktails!
Birthday time again!

Thank You, bed (Continental, one on each side!)
I'm just discussing the benefits of a jalfrezi with DDD at this precise moment! I'm swithering towards a dhansak right about now though!
for you!

A dansak sounds good but I do prefer the jalfrezi.
What's the point of pointing out how good a jalfrezi is to someone without tastebuds?

To be honest, he's never really had a great curry, not the 'done' thing in Nawrfolk, so he doesn't know what to order. I've occasionally got him a tikka masala cos most folk like them but he's never been keen. We did have fabulous curries in Cyprus though (local Greek place had an Indian chef for a few weeks who did special orders which were the best I'd ever tasted!!) and DDD has realised the joys of a bhuna!
I'm a bit of a lentil girl so the lamb dhansak is sounding good! Or will I have a jalfrezi?? Decisions, decisions!!!

I have to admit that the curry we had in Cyprus was the best thing I've ever had curry-wise and possibly one of the nicest dishes I've ever had in general.
It tasted like proper food, not so full of spices that you couldn't taste what you were eating - just full of flavour and looking surprisingly natural, instead of being bright red or yellow!
Mind you, the chap who cooked it was the personal chef for the Indian Ambassador to Cyprus, so he should have known a thing or two about cooking!
Tonight we are going to the local Portuguese Indian. I shall be having green for starters, followed by red in yellow sauce.

I'm not a fan of a sweet curry specially cocconut, I will eat a tikka but not a masala.
You're right about the Nawrfolk thing.
There must be half a dozen chinese restaurants and take-aways up town there is 1 Indian restaurant but it took a long time to find it hiding away. I must have driven past it countless times and still didn't see it.
When I eventually did get a meal from there it was ok but nothing special.
Well that's one pluss point for Dagenham (decent Indian restaurants).
Well, that's the only pluss point for Dagenham

Some people (me included to a certain extent) can eat a hot curry and still taste it while others can only "feel" the heat nad taste nothing else.
If I have a kebab I usually have extra chille sauce put on it
Though I have friends that put me to shame when it comes to eating spicy food
All this talk of food is making me
I'm off to feed my face

All the best, Deakie, I'm sorry I missed your birthday!
Is DDD OK? I noticed he'd wiped his PS and unsubbed from all his convos
Tell him GB & Skankyrich are missing him, OK?
Deakie and here's to an even better year for you

Thanks GB, I had a lovely birthday, even though it was a work day!
DDD is taking 'a bit of a break' as it's known. He may come back, he may not, but he's not one to post huge 'farewell' speeches. He just slipped off, without even me noticing!!!
We are moving country just after the wedding too which will mean a bit of an internet break so he's looking at other stuff at the mo.
I will pass on your good wishes to him (he's currently having an '80's revival on the CD player of all those dodgy CD's we've both had for years!)
Here's to a better year next year for all of us, especially you. Wishes for peace and happiness to you.
