I have been suffering from a horrible affliction, namely a complete lack of spare time. which really sucks.

But right now, I'm on holiday.

Ah my old chums, fret not! For I haven't buggered off at all! Well, I might have done briefly (or not briefly, depending on your perspective), but it's not permanent yet. I've just had a lot of stuff to do of late. Apparently I switched places with Menza, eh?

The new school year has started! I'm itching for next summer so I can finish school and, er, go to University. Which, incidentally, I have spent the last few weeks worrying about, and writing personal statements for, and similar things. It's been rather... hectic.

So now you know.

Jimi - you got hit by Ivan?? How awful. I was so worried it'd hit where my boyfriend is (in FL), but it decided to take a turn instead. I was so relieved that I completely forgot about it then. Hurricanes are poo.

Ivan gave us nearly 8 inches of rain in 24 hours which caused most of the streams around here to rise out of their banks.

We live up on a hill and at the bottom of the hill is the Swatara Creek which crested a good 12 feet above flood stage. The folks living along the creek had *major* damage, but we only had a few inches of water in our cellar...

Fun.

I live halfway up a hill on the second floor of the building. If I ever get flooded out, get worried. smiley - winkeye

Sorry to hear about the damage Jimi. There are many houses in the UK that they have built on floodplanes as there simply isn't enough space to put them anywhere else. This causes problems every year when different rivers decide to break their banks.
