h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I have spent most of the week chasing funds for the boxing club, and there is a lot of money out there but you have to be so particular to meet funders specifications. However the local council has just given us £500 and that has opened other doors so it looks as though we will be fully kitted out by September. Now I am going to try and get a Mini bus This country is awash with cash it is just so difficult to get your hands on it..
The bruise under my eye turned out to be a burst blood vessel and has now cleared up When I went to the doctor I knew it was either skin cancer or something equally horrendous. But of course I'm a bloke and when it comes to my health I am like most blokes. I never get a cold, it is always double pneumonia.!!!
It has been warm and sunny today. We had lunch out and then drove to Falmouth and watched the yacht racing. Then we drove around the coast through Swanpool along little country lanes. There are masses of wild flowers in the hedge rows. The daffodils are all gone but bluebells, wild garlic and primroses are every where. Although it is a holiday week end there does not seem to be much traffic about so the lanes and roads were easy driving.
We have had yet another local tragedy, a young man fell onto the railway lines in the early hours of this morning(Sunday)and was seriously hurt. Apparently he was trying to walk on a high wall above the railway cutting. It happened just after a nearby night club closed. perhaps he was not quite sober.
They have selected six of my poems for the Cornish Anthology which is going to be published in July or August. I am quite chuffed about it although I don't expect to become either famous or rich.
The Boss is really well all things considered, her medication has been changed, and she is getting stronger by the day, maybe I will be able to get her into the boxing ring, after all she is only seventy one
Many of my new roses are full of buds. The ones that are thriving best are those in my lasagne bed. That bed has bushes in it which either have The Boss' Christian name or my Christian name as part of their names. That's a bit over the top I know, but we think it is a hoot that Boss and I are in a bed together all day as well as all night>
