I had a tooth ripped out of my head by the dentist last Wednesday. It has been giving me gyp for weeks, and it is still kicking in because I had to have stitches in my gum to stop it bleeding. To add insult to injury. while I was dripping blood all over my shirt he told me in future I will have to pay top wack because he is going to go private
.I think we will have to join some kind of insurance plan ifwe are going to stay with him. The family have been going to him for over forty years so we don't feel like changing.
In spite of my intense agonising pain I took the Boss out today, it has been lovely weather(until this evening) so we went off on thecoast road with a flask of tea and bought pasties at Portreath andate them watching the sea roll onto the North Cliffs.I wish I could post pictures here it was wonderful. The sea as blue as can be with huge white horses cresting the waves.
We have about thirty young thugs wanting to join the boxing club. Each one has been told how disciplined it is going to be and how tough but they all seem keen. Some of'em are from very tough backgrounds and have no sense of discipline or respect so it will beinteresting to see how they getalong. The club opens in September. The first fight is to be a demonstration of Cornish Clotted cream wrestling between an aging(but agile Cornishman) and a mad grannie who paints her grandkiddies for fun and spends all night messing around with a crowd of blokes.
The Boss forced me to watch The Wedding' and I suppose the poor old dears deserve each other after all this time. But I still think Deirdre smokes too much

The House of Teeth I hope you feel better in the morning
As for the boxing, the discipline and the respect ..... I look forward to reading the stories that will, without doubt, end up here
In fact, would it not have been cheaper to have the offending tooth knocked out by the ageing (but agile) Cornishman and then to have gone to A&E?

Hi there!
Dentists do pick their moments to give you "bad" news Hope the gum's healing
I've had quite a few removed
, my father had all his removed in his twenties
- we all have teeth problems, it's in the genes
I went last Thursday for a check, but she didn't have time to clean - so a further appointment - she also said they are going private. Frankly, I don't mind as it will mean that the practice aren't quite so overworked & I may get a clean at the same time as the check!!
My husband's son is an orthodontist & has his own practice (he does take NHS patients), but he said that in a private practice the substances they use are superior. Well, I'll wait & see
I envy you the clifftop walk We went to the bungalow in Norfolk at Easter to have a break from the "kitchen". However, I didn't see the sea until we were packing up to come home! I can usually see the sea clearly from any of the back windows and have binoculars to watch the various ships that pass in the day
, but we had a terrific sea mist all day, every day, reminded me of the S King book "The Fog"
Good luck with the lads - maybe this is just what they need to use up all their aggressive energy? They need to learn: Respect man
I quite happily watched BOTH weddings!
Aren't you lucky that you were able to marry the person you loved, even if it caused a bit of trouble - it didn't hit the headlines in the world newspapers & you both didn't have too much to lose in the end.
Can't understand Deidre marrying that prig, but I suppose it's personal taste
I can recommend a REALLY good mouthwash: Eludril - if you have a sore gum, put some on cotton wool & bathe it. I haven't had as much gum or tooth trouble since I begun using it - I gargle with it too
Take care

Allo Shirps,
do you know I have never been to Norfolk and it was only when I read your posting I realised that. I must try to get up there this year before I get too decrepid to travel I hear there are some ancient castles and wonderful pubs up there.
I am afraid the hole where my tooth was is kicking up a bit. Still on the pain killers, but I have the stitches out next Wednesday. Tomorrow is too soon apparently and that is when I wanted them out. The dentist said Tuesday but that is my 71st birthday so
and
with the mob that day, so Wednesday it is. Hopefuly I will be still aneasthsatised from Tuesdays knees up to feel any pain
The lads, and the lassies are signing up for the boxing club. We now have four age groups but we can't start until our coaches are trained so thatwill be 1st. of September.
My son has taken up hunting I hate it but it is nothing to do with me.
take care
