Well this didn't take long did it? I decided that writing this journal was a chore and I wouldn't bother for a while and yet here I am again.
The trouble is hootoo is a bit like a drug. I was determined to give it up as a daily fix but kept creeping back to play the odd game or two. Also a few messages were left about the journal and I thought perhaps I would do it occasionally instead of as a daily chore.
I also thought I would leave it a week or two before doing the journal, however I went out last night to see friends at Hayle and while driving home across the moor thought of a dear friend who said my little word pictures of Cornwall would be missed.
It was brought to mind by the simple beauty of the road. It was half light and the moor between Penzance and my village is dotted with a few farm houses. Many had lights on and against the black hills it looked wonderful. The road is serpentine and very hilly and I love the drive because in daylight there are wonderful views across the moors and at night it is so dark that it is exciting and mysterious to drive along and I thought my friend would love this, so here I am sharing a piece of my life for those that are interested.
The Boss and I were in Falmouth one day this week. She wanted something special to wear at a party we are going to I spent an hour in a dress shop saying things like 'yes that looks lovely' and then being told that it wasn't quite right. She found something she liked in the end but I honestly thought she looked good in the first thing she tried on, and the second, and the rest of the tops and skirts and dresses she discarded as not suitable until she found something she liked. There is something odd about women and clothes shops. When I want something I know before I go out what it is and just go and get it. Why can't the girls do that?
