It's strange when you think about it isn't it? One minute I need a visa to work in Lithuania, then all of a sudden I don't. It would be really off-putting if I had any idea what Lithuania is like or even what language they speak (Lithuanian maybe?)
Seriously though, I'm no economist so I can't comment on whether it's good for the country's wealth, and to be honest, I don't care! What I do care about are people, and cultures and the way life differs across the globe. I just hope that joining Europe won't mean joining the West in its mundane Americanisation of everything we do and say and think. It's not that I have anything against America, I think it's great, but it's Britain and France turning into a mini-America that bugs me.
This European expansion should be an opportunity to open our eyes to a wider world, experience cultures we knew nothing about, learn to speak Lithuanian, eat different foods, meet different people and generally widen our horizons.
That's what it means to me anyway.

I'm not, but wouldn't it be fun? I think they still plough with horses there.

Well...I never really thought about Lithuania, but I'm sure you're right.
