Okay,this has been bugging me for ages,but I finally sorted it out.
Anyone who isn't interested in Cate Tiernan's "Wicca/Sweep" books,or is reading them and hasn't got to Book 15,STOP READING NOW!!!This is for readers who have read Book 2-and-up - including 15.I don't want to be responsible for ruining the series...I already almost did that for Senga.(Oh,and BTW,I haven't read Book 1.It's boring - you get the drift of it immediately:Cal moves to Widow's Vale,all the girls-including Morgan and Bree-fall in love with him,Cal starts gathering for Cirrus,Cal and-did you think I was gonna give you *that* spoiler?Dream on!Samhain rolls round,Cal and Morgan get together.Oh and *don't* say I just spoiled it,it was so obvious,the really hot new guy who brings this whole new way of life with him,the cute-but-thinks-she's-plain-smart girl...duh!
Anyway,I prefer Hunter.)

Okay.Here goes.
It's all Diarmaid's fault.Really,everything.Okay,Gowan can be blamed a *little bit,it's true,but Rose was on the edge of good and bad. Diarmaid's betrayal toppled her...onto the wrong side.Poor kid,eh?
Anyhoo,if that hadn't happened,the MacEwan's wouldn't have been dark Woodbanes after that,hence Ciaran wouldn't have felt the need to prove himself,so wouldn't have married Grania-hence,no Kyle and Iona! Pity about Killian tho,he's nice.
So Ciaran would have married Maeve(that's spelt wrong,isn't it )and Morgan would've been born,everyone's happy - okay,except Angus, but really,wouldn't we rather his broken heart than hundreds dead-including himself and Maeve and the rest of Belwicket(or so they think! )
And yes Selene and Daniel would still have fought,but with no dark wave,it wou;dn't have been so bad,and Hunter and Linden and Alwyn wouldn't have lost their parents,and Linden wouldn't have died.And before you low off that Hunter and Morgan would never have met,soul-mates,remember?Muirn beatha dans.It woulda happened anyway.But there would be no 15/16 year separation thinking the other was dead,because there'd be no Iona!No confusion over Moira's parentage,and everyone's happy!
If you're worried about the Rowlands,they still had Mary K.,remember? And I think they'd be very happy without the entire danger of Wicca in their lives,don't you?
Speaking of 15,I'm not happy with the Byrnes(again,spelling,innit).I know the whole piont of Wicca's trail and error,but at the cost of Morgan's memory and Moira's past?What if they'd wiped out something really important,like Cal and Selene,or Alice's kowlegde,or-Goddess forbid-Hunter?Ugh!And while I'm sure Colm was a very nice guy,he lied to Morgan and Moira for 15 years!Hello,anyone *else* see a problem with that?I'm telling you,had he lived,that marriage would be kaput. I mean,Morgan hates lies-and do ya blame her?Look at what she did to Iona!If you ask me,the Byrnes got off lightly,compared.Like I said,I prefer Hunter.

Whew!That was loaded!No one'll ever want to read my journal again, they're so long!But I promise you,that was a rare occasion.Just something I'm passionate about,and I got a bit carried away.
