Dirk Gently by the BBC:

But I guess everyone visualises characters differently. Has Enfield done straight acting before, I only know him for his comedy (not my smiley - tea)?

I have always preferred the DG books over HHGTG smiley - blush so I await this with interest.

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

Me neither. And I'm not a fan of Harry Enfield. He's really not that good. Paul Whitefield and Kathy Burke were in a different class when they worked with him on his show. The only characters that I ever thought were any good were Time Nice But Dim, and Stavros from Friday Night Live. Loadsamoney was a nice comment on the times but a crappy portrayal.

Not as I pictured Dirk either. I think Nick Frost would make a good Dirk.

Oh well. I'll watch it, but I always preferred the written word to the tv version when it comes to Adams.

smiley - doh

Sorry, missed that technical detail smiley - blush

Hmm. I suppose that's not quite the same as feeling a character looks wrong - however knowing who is doing the voice is just going to make one think of Enfield anyway.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

Seemed like a really peculia choice to me too... smiley - erm Perhaps he's been chosen for an accent he can do or soemthing... smiley - erm I can picture and hear Dirk, but I can't quite put my finger on who it'd be in terms of that 'idea' of him I have as an actor... smiley - erm

I'm not really here

I always thought of Dirk as being a bit fatter than Harry Enfield.

2legs - Hey, babe, take a walk on the wild side...

Wasn't Dirk also ment to be of some non British European background... smiley - ermsmiley - erm Mind the BBC radio adaptations of the DNA books have never failed to be fantastic thus far, so my hopes are still high smiley - erm
