On Tuesday night, May 4th, sky watchers in Europe, Africa, South America
and Asia can see a total lunar eclipse. The full moon will glide through
Earth's shadow and turn a lovely shade of sunset-red. North Americans
won't be able to see the event--not directly--but they can view it over
the Internet. Visit Spaceweather.com for links to live webcasts of the
eclipse, along with visibility maps and more information.<<<<<

Well it's pouring with rain and it looks like it's got no intention of letting up.smiley - wah I was looking forward to the total lunar eclipse. Natural wonders such as this help me get my head around things, and I need that today.smiley - sadface

Morning Corrie

Raining here in Surrey, and doesn't look like it's going to clear up at all, so no chance of us seeing the lunar eclipse.

Watching it on the internet just isn't the same!

Hi Fly

Just looking at the forecast, and it should be clear tonight, so we might get to see the eclipse - yipee!

Bit quiet over in the CB today isn't it - must have been all the good food and wine consumed yesterday!

Catch you later

FLYBYNIGHT

Hi Ruth,

Yes, quiet in the CB but anything BUT on the R2 board. It all came to a head when PG posted an open letter to the host about SC and all his different guises.

All his posts were removed but Tony is still active, although I have grave doubts about him. He's complaining in the CB at the moment and people just stay away.

Maybe, one day, he'll get the message.smiley - erm

Sun is out, so, fingers and toes crossed for the eclipse to-night.
Would just LOVE to see it.

Hi Fly smiley - zoom

Saw the posts on the R2 board - sure looked like fur was flying, I decided that discretion was the better part of valour and stayed on the side lines, waiting for the dust to settle!

Clearing up here - sort of! Fingers crossed for tonight.

I'll be out there staring into the night sky!

We've had thunder and lightning (yippee), hailstones, torrential rain, and now ..... gorgeous skies but some huge white clouds low on the Eastern horizon. We're going to jump in the car now and drive to a lovely spot and watch the eclipse. This is so exciting!!!!!!!!!

smiley - redwine or when we get back. Late night for the little ones but how often will they see this?

smiley - moonsmiley - star Don't forget to check out Venus, this week shining much brighter than usual, bless 'er. (Look west at sunset!)

Am I allowed to swear? Better not.

For those of you in cyber space that watched our beautiful moon in her pretty red dress, I am truly happy for you.smiley - smiley

For those of us deprived of the wondersmiley - wah there *will* be another.

Too many clouds in the wrong place at the wrong time.smiley - sadface We drove a further seven miles through the Lincolnshire countryside to try and get behind the clouds but to no avail.

Hi Corrie

But hey! listening to Radio 2 and they've just played Genesis - so good!

Cheers to you!

Oh you darling.

Another smiley - redwine as I write.

This is going to sound smiley - weird. I've just come in from watching our lady moon. I ran back in the house, yelled for the kids and Matt to come outside. There were the kids in wellies, PJ's and jackets and they said, 'It's not that red!'. They came back in and I watched until the clouds took her away again. Joy.

[Thanks to the BBC news, because I went on there and saw that according to them it would be over by 22:08 BST - that's why I ran outside.]

How beautiful. Essjay would be able to articulate the beauty of what I have just seen, but I can't. More smiley - redwine. Will put some Genesis on our jukebox, I think.

You know, me and the kids went for a walk when we were first looking for the moon and before we decided to drive behind the clouds. We had a lovely time, and lots of lively chatter. It's the little things, isn't it? I am the luckiest girl in the world, regardless of what crap is thrown before me. The best bits come in moments. Like seeing the children after a day at school. That moment when I first see them, like when they come downstairs for breakfast, nothing can top that.
