yup, although if you try to do it the complex way then a circle would be the most economical shape. therefore you would work ouk the aproximate area taken up by 1 sheep, multiply it by 42 to find the total area taken up by the sheep which is aproximately 21 m^2 so 21=[pi]*r*r =[pi]* (d/2)*(d/2) which gives a diameter of 5.17 ish, which when * by pi = 16.24m, so 17 1m fence bits I think

I agree that mathematically your argument is foolproof (actually quite surprised if it is posible). But I'm not 100% convinced that you can fit the sheep into the cirkle if you don't cut them up into small pieces first . Tried the same calculations with two sheep (used cm instead of m), drew a circkle with the calculated radius (rounded up to something I could meassure) and made two small cuttout sheeps (with rounded up dimensions yet again). And I couldn't really make these fit properly into the cirkle I had drawn
even if it's posible I still like the fact that you fence in 42 sheep with 42 fence bits

Lauda, do you tend to idolise your partners, then?
And besides, I'm honestly not that bad. No, wait, I am. *gets dressed* Wouldn't want anybody to break down with the ugliness of the scene.
