Valve have confirmed that Half-Life 2 will be released before the end of the year. They're showing it at E3.
Given that Half-Life is still *best* *game* *ever* in my opinion (even the much-lauded Halo didn't manage to eclipse it) I'm really quite excited about this.
Of course, it *has* to be a disappointment. The first game was such a leap over other games when it came out that a sequel can never hope to recapture that feeling. But if they're able to deliver an experience that's as good as the first (although hopefully without the arsey end levels) then I'll be happy.
And I can hardly wait...

YAY!!! Half-life 2! By then I might even have my laptop - and therefore enough power to run it!!!

curses, I go and buy Half Life Generation, and they come out with version 2, Oh well I like the game anyway, you still see 1k of people in GameSpy playing Half Life.
