If you're feeling low, or suffering with depression, you don't have to deal with it on your own. Take a look at the information we have about depression on the BBC One Life site at:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/onelife/health/healthy_mind/depression.shtml
There's loads of information on there about the types of help and treatment available, much of it specifically about self-harming.
You can also speak to someone at The Samaritans if you're struggling to cope at the moment. The Samaritans is an organisation that was set up to help people through difficult times. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year, there are people there who’ll listen to what you have to say about what you’re going through. In the UK dial 08457 90 90 90 for the cost of a local call. Website: http://www.samaritans.org Email: [email protected]

Yeah, I'll second that - ChildLine were a lifeline for me a couple of years ago.

An advertisment on a BBC site? Is it the apocalypse already?
Anyway, Dani, it's not so bad. I was depressed when I was your age too (although I never cut myself or anything) but I grew out of it. I'm sure you will too.

No one could be THAT happy to talk to you.

Why not? I mean, they're taking the calls to try to help you. What's wrong with being nice to your fellow human?

Maybe that's just what living in Birmingham does to you Seriously, there definitely ARE people who care. They might not necessarily be jumping for joy and celebrating that another young person is phoning with problems, but they definitely care.

Dani, I know what hell you're going through. And don't ever regret trying, please! 68 days is good. Best I've managed is 4. Damn I've been at this too long...
Sweetie, hold your head up, ok?
When I tried to quit, I couldn't cope because it wasn't easy. One of my mates said to me: "No one said it would be easy...they only said it would be worth it". Hold to that too honey.

I can't remember everything that's been said... but I will reply to a few of them.
Thanks for your friend's quote and your support. I know it's worth it... but it's just too hard... I should really stop thinking of it as me taking a break until I can't take it anymore, and think of it as me quitting for good... but the chances of me being able to live without it is... well, they're non-existant. *sighs* I'm too weak.
I like hyper Steph! Though that doesn't mean Steph should feel guilty for being sad.
Thankyou GB for being nice. I really appreciate it. I would hug you now, normally, but that would probably discourage you from being nice again, so I will resist.
As far as the Kids Help Line goes... the idea of calling them scares the s*** out of me. I find it really hard to talk out loud about my problems, and even if I figure out what to say I open my mouth and try to say it, but end up just saying some of my normal jibberish like a random quote or something... I just can't do it. Plus my house carries sound really well, which means everyone in the house would overhear. Anyway, the time of night when I usually start to feel really down and need someone to talk to just happens to be the time my sister likes to use the phone claling her boyfriend for hours and kills me if I even try to get near it.
I can't remember what else has been said... so sorry that I'm not replying to all comments here...

And it had nothing to do with getting an email from the site warning to be nice or be banned.
Well aactually, that played a big part in it.
