My eldest daughter turned six years old today.
Time has a funny was of passing by quickly doesn't it. I can still recall my first emotions upon holding her in the delivery room. The sound of her first giggle - when we said the word 'papoose'. Her first tentative steps. The time she was able to spout off the line-up of her favourite baseball team.
Now that she's almost a 'big girl', I'm not allowed to see her in the bathroom or in any other state of undress. She invited six of her friends from school over to the birthday party and they did girl things like playing with dolls.
She still likes to snuggle play games and read stories with me, but I wonder how much longer that will last. Sometimes, I miss my little Nattie. But I am proud of this big girl named 'Nat'.
