We heard back from the Realtor again today. The homeowner's test for radon was higher than the one we had done. So there is a definite radon problem with this house.
The homeowner also announced that she wasn't going to pay for a system to mitigate the problem.
But our Realtor, Jane Hlushak, didn't accept that. She and the homeowner's agent talked and convinced the homeowner to pay for half the system. Jane and the homeowner's agent agreed to cover the other half out of their commissions!
The last problem has been solved!
We've got a house!!
Our settlement date is Tuesday, August 22. We should be able to start moving in the day after that.

You lucky lucky b******d! We are still in limbo land. There is no way that the current house we have put an offer on will be ready before December and it is very likely it will be next year. We are therefore still looking and from 7th August will be stuck in a rental house!
If you can say anythign at all to cheer me up, it will help!

Couldn't they find someone whose chest filled the T-shirt? It is a prime example of how not to wear a T-shirt, isn't it?
Anyhow, it did the trick and I smiled.

Congrats on the house! And I'm sure things will come through for you too eventually, Ginger.
I'm moving in a week, although in my case it's just to a nicer apartment. Still, cheers all around!
