Did you see the entries about the 'Great Cross of Christ' and 'Jumonville'? They're the two latest ones I've submitted. I'm planning to do a series of entries about Hershey Pennsylvania, Hershey's Chocolate, and Milton S. Hershey some time before the New Year/Y2K debacle. smiley - smiley

Jumonville...? I should know where that is. But I don't. Must be too much calculus and physics...

Good work, nonetheless.

Everyone should know about Hershey's Chocolate... that's one of my favourite places to visit in PA.

Maybe over winter break I'll have a chance to crank out one or two new articles...

Jumonville is located just south of Uniontown off of Route 40. It's at the top of the mountain! Would you believe I ran into some 'researchers' on h2g2 who had never heard of Hershey's Kisses?? When I told them about the street lamps, they must have thought me insane...In fact, they accused me of losing my touch with reality! smiley - winkeye

BTW: Please don't tell me you like Hersheypark! I served food there for eight years beginning in 1984. Ever have a funnel cake? I may has slaved over it for you to pay $5 for the opportunity to eat it. Of course at the time I was earning $4.25 an hour - you do the math!

Jimi, you go right ahead and write as much as you want about Penn. As Frus said, someone has to do it, and you've got a good writing style. smiley - smiley

And at any rate, I'm not going to stop writing about Colorado........

Ok, this is for Frus:
Pens Suck, Go Avs!

(This would be more effective if the Avs didn't in fact suck smiley - sadface)

Jimi: I was at Hershey park a loooong time ago, and don't even remember it. I think I was four. My favorite place in Hershey is the ride that explains the chocolate making process. Then when you get off it you're so dizzy that you almost fall down...

Frink: Boooooooooo! Although I can't really argue with you. They're not playing as well as they should be. Come on, they have Jagr! (and, I must admit that the Avs are my favorite team in the west...)

And the Avs minor league farm team is??

*The Hershey Bears*
The Bears were known as the B'ars (get it?) but eventually changed the name to reflect the Ursa rather than the candy. In the 1930s, I think they even put skates on a real bear and allowed it to stumble around the rink!

Also, Bob Hartley? former coach of the Bears when they won their last Calder Cup (the AHL's small and cheesy version of Lord Stanley's Cup).

I can find a Penna connection with just about anything! Sort of like the 'Degrees of Bacon' game, just less fun! smiley - winkeye

In high school we weren't allowed to differentiate to find the slope of curves so I developed a good old fashioned hatred of physics! ;-( Which was ironic since I wanted to be an astrophysicist at the time....

The Ghost Of TV's Frink

Tonight I saw the episode where the plant had a softball team and Mr. Burns brought in a bunch of ringers. Poor Homer got beat out by the Straw.

UMPIRE: Ok, let's go over the ground rules. You can't leave first until you chug a beer. Any man scoring has to chug a beer. You have to chug a beer at the top of all odd-numbered innings. Oh, and the fourth inning is the beer inning.

CHIEF WIGGUM: Hey, we know how to play softball.

Anyone know where we can get ringers for the Misfits? Does Peta count?

Have you seen Kate's Random Quote Generator that I've got on my home page? I love it when a Simpson's quote pops up. They're almost always hysterical! smiley - smiley

The Ghost Of TV's Frink

Yes Jimi, when are the Simpsons *not* hysterical?

You had better not say "whenever Professor Frink shows up"

FRINK: You've got to listen to me! Elementary chaos theory tells us that all robots will eventually turn against their masters and run amok in an orgy of blood and kicking and the biting with the metal teeth and the hurting and shoving!
