A week of late shifts at work. All is pretty quiet. The late night bulletin on HTV is done and waiting to go. Broadcast 11.24pm. A quick surf on the net, a check of the news wires from around the world, teletext, and the other TV news channels. Counting down the hours. Oh, a body has just been found in the marina of Cardiff. Could be interesting. I've sent out a camera man to get some pix and am waiting for official confirmation from the police. Could be nothing.

You must have one of the most facinating jobs in the world. So unpredictable. Yet, how do you stop yourself from taking home with you, the tragedies
you report about. Especially when you are on the night shift, in the early hours of the morning.
