h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I don't know what it's like in other countries but in the USA and Japan I see a large number of people walking, driving, eating, etc... while using their cell phone. I'm sure I don't need to mention how annoying this is. But recently I've been noticing a new addition to this behavior. People who use their cell phone antennas to point at people and things. This is simply ridiculous. I mean, if you can't put away the frickin’ phone long enough to conduct important business like driving do you also have to have it in your hand when interacting with people? It's like they're saying, "See, I have a cell phone and I'm so popular that I cannot possibly put it away for even one second because I may receive a call at anytime so I want you to see it clearly before I receive my call and can answer it and ignore you completely." I saw someone order a bagel with his cell phone antenna today. He seemed to have some difficulty in choosing which bagel was the proper one to point his antenna at and I expected him at any moment to call his agent to be sure.
