not really
theres 1 in a Kurt Vonnegut book I've been meaning to try or you could live dangerously and try a 'Red Needle' as invented by Leonard Cohen but I have no idea what any of them are like

being is by far the most common
the trouble with cocktails is it is garanteed you end up mixing your drinks, getting very , and not remembering which ones you really liked next morning

The closest I tend to get to a cocktail is an Irish Black Russian...which is Guinness, Vodka and Kahlua...
...I remember hitting them pretty hard one night (in pint glasses)...and woke up wondering whether or not I had licked my girl's face
Did you know there's a drink called a green dragon, which is made largely from vodka and cannabis leaves ??

I didn't
when I was at school the 6th form invented a cocktail called the 'Monty Christ' and managed to convince a local pub this was the new thing in Edinburgh, they even put out a sign saying Monty Christs served here
pity it tasted absolutely foul and cost a fortune

I went scouring through sites (that weren't blocked by the firewall) and this is what I find !
Sounds like an excellent idea ...I somehow doubt th epub would serve them here though...seeing how it's all slightly *illegal* and all
Anyways, have a good night sunshine
Next time I see you it will be Friday !

Would Vonnegut cocktail be the pousse cafe mixed by an ex-con bartender in (?) Breakfast of Champions?
The only cocktails I'll touch are classic Martinis and Manhattans. You havev to seek them out over here, but in the US, you can order them pretty much anywhere without the bartender batting an eye.
On the other hand - I've seen entire wine lists composed entirely of Chardonnays. I try to persuade Americans to look out for any Chardonnay made in the town of Riesling. If it says Riesling on the label, it's a fair bet.

The Vonnegut cocktail I was thinking of was a Sweet Rob Roy, a vodka martini made with whisky instead of vodka, mentioned in Hocus Pocus
Maybe I'll have a Vonnegut cocktails night 1 night

Why would it get yikes'd?
Unfortunately I'm willing to bet that I'm going to be asked to make cocktails over the weekend sometime, and I'll say: "Damn, I should have gotten those recipies while I could... I won't be back on hootoo until monday now..." Flamin' Murphy's law!

I don't think it should be yikesed unless someone decides cocktails can be copyrighted
isn't it just a matter of looking as if you know what you're doing

You'd think so... I managed to get a TKO wrong a few weeks ago; I was so embarrased.
TKO, AKA 'Total Knock Out': Tequila, Kahlua, and Ouzo. Layered. Simple as that.
Wish I could remember how a pickled brain went... that was tasty!
Hey! It's friday!
Have a great weekend!

I went looking for cocktails on the 'net yesterday...there was one called a "Green Dragon"...
I thought "that sounds interesting", so I clicked on it...
...turns out the main ingredients are gin and......cannabis...
...so my w**k blocks every site on cocktails...except for the ones with illicit substances in them
