no, luckily I don't fight with any of my family nowadays although there are some subjects I find it best to avoid since we're not going to change each others views

Yeah, I know what you mean, me and mum can be civil now if we have to, but I know when to walk away (and know when to run) smiley - laugh

my mum didn't like it when my tagline here was "I'd rather put my trust in a drunken dentist than God"

My mum was in here for a little while...needless to say young Warrior Ranger was terrified...but who wouldn't be? I mean the last thing you want to happen when your lying on the couch with your girlfriend is for her little black mother to come storming in smiley - roflsmiley - rofl

always a dreaded point in any relationship, meeting the girl/boyfriends family

I tried to convince her that my Mum would be ok...but she still remained on her best behaviour for the entire two or three days my Mum was online smiley - laugh.

But it is terrifying...I told you I met the boy's mother the other week...that was terrifying...and I may be meeting his brother this weekend (the brother that everyone loves)...

I wish I was more impressive smiley - laugh

I remember a friend of the family was round once and asked how my brother was getting on with a girl. None of us knew he'd been going out with her for over a year smiley - laugh
And my parents aren't that terrifying smiley - winkeye

My parent's aren't scary...well, not to people they're not related to smiley - laugh

Dad met the boy ages ago, before anyhting was happening...he comes to triva with me and Dad had has been for about 3 months now...My Dad likes anyone I like as a general rule - we're good mates me and Dad, and he tends to trust my judgement smiley - ok

Mum likes everyone better than she likes her kids and is one of those people who really needs people to like her...so she likes everyone.

I remember one boyfriend I had burned me pretty bad (there was police involvement)...he remains the only person in the world I wish physical pain upon...and my mother wanted me to see if I could reconcile with him...obviously she thought he was the best I could do smiley - erm

Anyways...it's different with other people's parents...in high school all of my mates' parents loved me...but boyfriend's parents can go either way these days...not to mention the fact that people in general scare the bejeezus outta me smiley - roflsmiley - rofl

Exactly...I try not to worry about the opinions of people that don't matter to me...but when it's the opinion of a person that someone you care about cares about it's different...

...did that make sense smiley - erm? smiley - laugh

either it did or there is a deeper hidden meaning of which I am unaware smiley - winkeye
whats worse, if you don't like them you have to keep on being nice and then afterwards the person you care about asks so what did you think of them smiley - erm

There's probably a better way of saying it, but you'd have to get a better person in to write it smiley - rofl

I know...parents scare me no end because I feel like I'm a kid again...smiley - wah

...Hey, did you know that if you put your name into the hootoo search you can see who's been talking about you smiley - smiley??

I'm a little multi-personality these days...in school I was always extremely verbose...I know it's superficial but big words impress me smiley - laugh...these days I tend to resort to them when I'm too drunk to stop myself...

mind you the people who said that I was deliberately using long words after 1 of them said about getting his dictionary out, teach him smiley - evilgrin
I've always used them, part of my psuedo-intellectual pretensions no doubt smiley - biggrin

I have a capacity for bluffing my way through things I don't understand...it's what's gotten me through a lot of my life!

There's actually quite a few conversations that mention me in relation to an "argument" I had a few months ago...it's a bit bizarre how long one incident has been dragged on, without my intervention at all smiley - laugh
