Saddened today to hear of the news of John Peel's death. Like Alastair Cook a few months ago, I sat listening to the radio cursing myself for not paying more attention to his shows. I appreciated what I did hear, though, especially Home Truths, and while it was on my mind went off to look for the name of the theme tune. I don't think I was the only one to ask (it's posted on the HT web page under 'For all of you who've been contacting the programme about the Home Truths Signature Tune...'). Importantly, while listening to it* I discovered I could get my faulty headphones working by sucking on them. Tripped my way through a Real Playered Peel show high on the taste of earwax
* I will buy the rest of a Dick Dale CD, really

Ahem - that should have been Cooke not Cook
Something else I meant to mention - how many other people were surprised that John Peel was 65? It's still a tragically young age to die, though
Key: Complain about this post
