Have had a few burning desires recently. Four have revolved round my non-existant spare time:
having the time to show Alison the nicer bits of the UK she's not seen yet
having the time (and equipment) to play the piano again
having the time (and patience) to get into juggling and jive again
having the time to write this journal more often than once a decade. This one shouldn't be too tricky as my new job's throwing up plenty of things to write about, particularly if my readership finds similar humour in amusing building materials as me and my colleagues. OK, unlikely perhaps Nevertheless, that's supposed to be my raison d-etre these days, so I'll write about it anyway. It did strike me the other day that we'd make buildings a lot more interesting if someone patented corners and charged building teams lots of money to use them

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
