h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

The control-freaks are SCARED! They don't like the fact that they can't stem the flow of information, that you can know what they would rather you didn't know! From the CDA (that Communications Decency Act, for you who've been in a cave), to the Methamphetamine Whatever which would make linking to sites which contain information about drugs, they want to CONTROL what you KNOW!

Things like the school rampages (blamed on music, the internet, etc.) are used to justify their repression of information- kinda scary to see schoolkids acting like their elders in congress and making war to resolve their problems, isn't it?

The Pope (not the one in the vatican, the one mentioned at the top of my page)was recently called into the customs office:

"Hey Guys,

Well, I found out what the Customs guys want.

They are investigating my web pages. In particular, my Troublemakers,
Inc. web pages. Someone told them I was really selling babies or
something, I guess.

Anyway, the govt. appears to be coming down very hard on the internet and first Amendment rights here. Watch yourselves. "
