Oh My God, They've Killed.... Earnest

Post 1

Well, last night was the final night of our amateur dramatics production of The Importance of Being Earnest. Marvellous fun. It went down very well with the audiences on all three nights. A very civilised outdoor production in the grounds of Bushy House, the 'stately home' bit of NPL. A few drinkies at the last night party, but not too many.

The weekend looms and it will be cool. Saturday I am taking my younger brother to Metallica's Big Day Out at Milton Keynes. Should be a blast. Sunday I am driving a bus-load of mates up to Alton towers for the day. I can't wait. Reports on both these days will no doubt be forthcoming.

Aha, another Big Day Out-er. What did you think? I thought the support was a bit week, not a patch on Donnington '95, but Metallica rocked splendidly.

What did you reckon to the quality of the PA on the Kerrang stage? It seemed to be fading in and out all the time but that might have been me.

Shim's Monster Magnet tip was pretty good though - the first band to play that didn't sound just like the one before.

Ash to ash,
Dust to dust,
Fade to Black,
The memory remains.

Yup, I thought the BDO was a blast. Some darned good bands (and some crap ones). I agree that the PA on the Kerrang! stage was a bit iffey. Mind you, I didn't agree with their review in last weeks issue (heven't seen this week's yet). I thought Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals were pretty ace, and Marylin Manson was a complete arse (obvious joke for those who were there). Whoever got him in the face with the bottle should be given a medal, IMHO. Metallica stole the show, though. No surprises there. The best rock band on the planet, bar none.
