Proverb
A short pith saying in widespread use that expresses a basic truth or practical precept.
I say:
Proverbs are an easy way for people to force you to accept thier view, by giving you some undeniable logic. The trouble comes when two opposing camps do the same thing.
Ponder if you will the proverbs "Too many cooks spoil the broth" and Many hand make light work". Both talking about the same subject, both eminently logical but contradictory.

If someone is as honest as the day is long, are they suddenly dishonest at night? Do honesty levels drop in the Winter?
