With the approval of the government, Crystal Palace Park will 25% of its space to commercialisation. Unlike the courts, I consider this a misuse of open metropolitan land. It's like violating the green belt. I know it happens. But it ain't right

it certainly seems like no one cares. I have only been to Crystal Palace Park once - and I was impressed - we were filling in time before a game at Selhurst Park. The community facilities looked good but lacking money.
So what is going to be built there?

With the approval of the Labour government, 25% of the green space will be replaced by an 18 screen cinema (currently UCI) in a leisure complex shaped like a rectangular airplane hanger. Its flat roof will have parking for approximately 1000 cars, with tunnels and ramps from Annerley Hill. The CP Act of 1993 states that any development approximate the old CP of 1851. This development doesn't attempt anything like that. But it does provide money for Bromley Council.
The major objection of local residents and businesses is the increased traffic caused by the planned night club and many fast food outlets.
