It has been a cold and clear winter down under. We had a few good snowfalls early on, in late May and early June, but from late June through July it has been very dry. In Christchurch here we have had a frost every day for more than two weeks. The skiing is still good, but we're hoping for a few more big snowfalls in the next month or so. I'm off to the remote backcountry for a ski touring trip in late July to early August.
