h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Well the academic year is about to roll on and in preparation I have moved into a new home with a group of my friends. At present I have lived there for a whole week and found out that at night, when we are all asleep, the house is crawling (sliding) with slugs, Yuk. Every day new slug trails are found winding there way over towels, plates, cutlery and even food, YUK. Unfortunately we have only found two of the blighters both of which have been rehomed outside of the house.
The LAN between myself and my friends is now successfully up and running with Tib Sun, Half-life, Starcraft and Atomic Bommerman being the most popularly played games. On the food front, we've made curries, hot-pots and pizzas, all of which have at least been edible.

The major drawback at the moment is the boiler, the pilot light does come on, it just doesn't stay on, this means there is no hot water, no heatings and no washing of clothes. Unusually though the shower which is run on a seperate heating system is working perfectly, which is nice.

We still have no Internet connection at home and may never have one so I can still only reach you people through the University computers, hence the long delay between replies.

Another bad point is that one of my friends due to live with us has unexpectedly decided not to come back to Uni, this means that his share of the rent has to be paid by us, adding about £12 to our rent every week. Plus it means we may not see the friend in question (Alex a.k.a. ReapeR) for quite some time, which is most definately not nice.
 
Having said/written all this though, the house is very comfortable, warm and with my friends around should be a fun place to live. So long (for a little while (about two weeks)) and thanks for all the fish.
 

And I have no phone, should we ever get a phone the only connection point is in the box room which will soon be ocupied by a fourth, as yet unknown, person.
