THE HITCHHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY
Movie adaptation of Douglas Adams's cult sci-fi comedy novel. Arthur Dent escapes the destruction of the Earth... blah blah blah.
Surely it's not that long since we all trooped off to the cinema to see the film? And now it's on telly!

It's been more than two years since it was on in the cinema, I think. Films come to television much more quickly these days largely, I think, because the explosion of DVD and the success of pay-per-view film viewing on digital networks such as Sky has deflated the importance of a terrestrial TV "premiere" and so the film must transfer to TV quickly in order to keep any remaining impact that remains after it has been released to DVD and broadcast on pay-per-view.

The London premiere was 20 April, 2005... Yes it was that long ago.
I'll be buying my second copy shortly. It's now out on Blu-Ray.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
