 I'm going to Clear Lake this weekend! 3 days of fun in the sun. Of cource that last glacier probably just left last week, but who cares!? I get to miss Friday too! It's so nice up there this time of year!

Yep, I'm from "friendly Manitoba" It was really nice at Clear Lake this weekend. Well the Barber Shop people were annoying. They were still singing at 1 am. They have some kind of annual meeting there every year.

Yep, its a long standing thing at Sportsman's Park.
I haven't had a chance to get up there yet this year, hoping to go soon.

Just beware the mosquitoes. They were kind of bad when I went up. I wonder if they spray for them, up there?
I love getting ice cream there, it's like a tradition. Same with walking the boardwalk and, renting tandem bicycles. How about you?

I grew up in the area so it took me some time to realize how special it is. I like walking around and hiting a few of the camp sites. Really like the north shore, Spruces and Aspen are great.
How oftern do you head up?

I usually only head up there once or twice a year, which makes it more special and exciting. My grandparents have a yearly golfing tournament up there yearly, and they invite us up along with them. Which is really nice of them. I like hiking around too, unfortunately I can never find anyone who wants to come with me. They'd rather just shop. I like the stores there but I can't stand shopping when it's so nice out!
Did you know they tore down the playground? It wasn't up to some safety standards. They're having the grand re-opening of it on Canada Day.

No, I didn't know that. Interesting though.
Which golf tournaments, I'm not big on golf, and the only one that sticks in my head is the Tammarack.
I used to go up a lot. However now I'm lucky if its once or twice a year. The big thing now is renting the private campgrounds that they have for groups and going up with a bunch of friends. Its a real blast and the sites are far enough removed to allow a good degree of privacy, and are also much closer to the trails and one in particular is much closer to the north shore beach.

I'm not sure what it's called I think it has something to do with the Army Navy Club or someting. They've been going up there for years. Actually Gary Filmon also has a golf tournament or someting up there too, on the same weekend.
I've only camped at Clear Lake once, and it was a somewhat crowded site. The North shore camping grounds sound cool, I should check it out next time I'm up there. Maybe while everybody else is shopping.....

Some of those sites are not so much camping grounds as group sites that can be booked for larger gatherings. I think there are a few over night sites along the north shore however I haven't been there.

hmm, I really ought to consider going up there then for a weekend with a whole bunch of friends. I know they like Clear Lake. But right now I have a friend with a cabin at Grand Beach, and I doubt Clear Lake sounds as appealing.
