I just dropped by to let you know how much I enjoyed your poem.
I used to write poetry myself but no matter the subject, it always ended up being very depressing. So I gave it up.

Thanks!
Believe it or not, that one was written in a depressed state of mood. I think the best poetry comes from the tortured soul... Even though light-hearted quips make for a welcome respite.

Maybe that is where I was going wrong.
I should probably have tried writing depressing things and they might have ended up cheerful.

You might actually be right.. Often when I'm depressed about something to the point of being inspired (it seems I'm most inspired when I'm feeling rather sad or lonely), once I get it on paper I feel much better. But then, this comes from someone who's only 'shrink' throughout life has been "Mr. Paper".

I'm glad you liked it, but I've removed it from my 'personal' (ha!) space, and if I could I'd remove it from this thread, as well.. I do NOT give permission to BBC to do Squat with my poetry.. in any way, shape or form.
Bleh.
